Funding Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in the Honorable Marianne E. Becker Fund. If you would like to seek funding from us, please read the following guidelines diligently. These guidelines have been created to help educate your organization with our funding priorities and requirements, as well as to help us in our decision-making process. We regret that we will be unable to review requests that do not conform to these guidelines.

HISTORY

The Honorable Marianne E. Becker Fund was proudly founded by her family in March, 2004.   The fund is a 501(c) (3) non profit organization that serves as a catalyst for restorative justice programs operating in Waukesha County, Wisconsin.  The Becker Fund maintains active involvement with both the legal and local communities to identify and support restorative justice programs.  The fund also exists to help educate the citizens of Waukesha County of the principles of restorative justice.  Through private donations, fund-raising events and grants, the fund continues to raise money, which is distributed to select programs.

FUNDING PRIORITIES

The Honorable Marianne E. Becker Fund will accept all grant applications from 501(c) (3) organizations and managed programs that are located in Waukesha County, WI.  Your organization or program must show that it applies the principles of restorative justice. The maximum grant award that can be approved by our Directors is $2000.

FUNDING RESTRICTIONS

Although we recognize the need for funding in many areas, financial support is not provided for the following:

  • Discretionary or Emergency Requests
  • Research Programs/Projects
  • Capitol Campaigns

The Honorable Marianne E. Becker Fund reserves the right to accept or reject applications without cause or reason.  Due to the considerable interest in our grants, all organizations and programs are limited to one grant award per year.

HOW TO APPLY FOR GRANTS

The application process with the Honorable Marianne E. Becker Fund consists of a Letter of Interest and a Question Sheet. Your Letter of Interest should be typed and located on a letterhead containing your organization’s current contact information. Furthermore, your Letter of Interest should include the following:

  • A description of your organization or program.
  • The reasons for and the amount of funding that you are requesting.
  • A detailed operating budget for the program that our grant is benefiting.
  • How you specifically plan to apply your grant award to your organization and program.

Your Question Sheet should be completed in as much detail as possible. Please use a separate sheet if you need more space.

NOTIFICATION OF A GRANT AWARD

The Honorable Marianne E. Becker Fund will provide you with both a verbal and written notification that you have received a grant award.  Specific information concerning your grant award will be provided at that time.
